“Most CPAs begin their career in public accounting and then make a change. I did the exact opposite. I had a successful accounting career working for a variety of companies in different types of financial and operational management positions. In my 25 plus years of being a client of CPA firms, I was amazed at how little the average CPA understood the demands and needs of small business owners. Since the average CPA never stood in the shoes of a small business owner, they could not relate to or understand the challenges and personal risks business owners take every day.
I made a career change so I could provide entrepreneurs with what they need. In addition to providing “traditional accounting services”, I knew small business owners needed strategic direction, another perspective, and sometimes plain old common sense in order to help them confront the daily challenges. My goal is to help business owners realize their goals, whether that is more family time, greater financial freedom, early retirement or some other personal milestone. I want them to do what they do best, and allow us to do everything else, which usually means what they struggle to complete. This is what I consider to be a true business partner.”
